5TH GRADE
Ms. Kelli Garner
My name is Kelli Garner. This is my first year teaching in the Archdiocese of Washington. I graduated from Frostburg State University with both a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a mathematics specialization, and a Masters degree in Reading Education.
My hobbies include arts and crafts, scrapbooking, and reading a variety of literature. I love hanging out with friends and family, especially my plethora of pets at home.
Mrs. Barbara Hayes
I am a graduate of Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, New York. Upon graduation I served several years in the Army as a Field Artillery Officer. One of my many assignments was to instruct Marine and Army Lieutenants in the basics of cannon gunnery, lots of Math. During this assignment, I met and married my husband of 24 years. We have three grown children, two of which are pursuing careers in the field of education and the third works in a government contract office for the FFA.
I spend my personal time continuing to work with youth. I serve as an assistant scoutmaster with a Boy Scout troop in Upper Marlboro. I am also a long time member of the Catholic Committee of Scouting, both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts Committees. My husband and I work together training and coordinating the Altar Servers at our home parish, Saint Peter's in Waldorf. I also serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and teach the confirmation preparation for students enrolled in the public school.
Although my spare time is limited any free time I have always involves serving the youth. I believe God called me to serve in his capacity and plan to do so until God tells me otherwise.

Dear Parents,
It is my pleasure to introduce myself; I am the middle school Language Arts and Literature teacher.
I was born and raised in upstate New York. I am a mother of a toddler. My husband and I moved to Maryland to pursue our career goals. We are excited to raise our son in an area rich with American culture and numerous family activities. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, gardening, reading, and crafting.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Childhood Education and a Masters in Literacy Education.

Ms. Emily Rose
Hi, my name is Emily Rose, I am the eigth grade teacher here at St. Philip the Apostle for the past 5 years. I have been a teacher for the Archdiocese of Washington for the past 5 years and additionally, I spent my entire academic career in Catholic Schools. I received my high school diploma from Bishop O'Connell High School in the Diocese of Arlington, VA in 2001. I received my Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Catholic Theology from Christendom College in Front Royal, VA in 2005. I am currently working to complete my teaching certification.
I spend much of my free time volunteering at St. Philip's Church, TIHI Youth Minister. I am an avid reader, listen to all types of music, and love to watch old movies.
