Ms. Erin McHugh
Hello, my name is Erin McHugh. I was born in Baltimore City, MD but as a child I was raised in Columbia, MD. After graduating high school I received my Early Childhood Certification and Associates degree in Elementary Education from Howard Community College. I attended Towson State University and received a BS in Elementary Education. After graduating I worked with preschool age children at West Mooreland Children's Center for 3 years and Columbia Academy for 3 years. I went on to teach 2nd grade in Prince Georges's Co. and 2 yrs of 1st grade in Washington, DC. For the last 7 years I have taught at St. Philip the Apostle School, the first 5 years with first grade and then I moved to teach the 3yr old program.
In my spare time I keep very busy with my 2 children. When I take a break from that my next love would be drawing.

Mrs. Patricia Spry
My name is Patricia Ann Spry and I am a para-professional for the PreK 3 program here at St. Philip the Apostle. I worked at St. Ignatius in Fort Washington with the 1st - 4th grade teachers from 2001-2008 with reading comprehension.
I have 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren. It's great to be a grandma and never a dull moment.
I love to be outdoors gardening when the weather is nice. Other hobbies I enjoy are reading, going to the movies or an occasional dinner out.
This is my first year working here at St. Philip the Apostle, however I am not new to the parish. I have been a parishioner here for 33 years!
Mrs. Jan Roe
My name is Janith McVea-Roe. I was born in West Virginia but educated in the Anne Arundel County Public School system. I sang in the school choir and played softball.
I attended DC Teacher's College, first selecting to study psychology then changed my major to biology. I welcomed the challenge that this field offered. I also attended Prince George's Community College with coursework in early childhood education.
I have taught Pre-Kindergarten for 18 years. Twelve of those have been here at St. Philip the Apostle School and the previous 6 were at Happy Daycare Center in Clinton, MD . I am involved in a summer camp program in the area also.
My hobbies include gardening, collecting and watching vintage movies and tv shows. Also, writing stories, playing tennis and walking.
Mrs. Vivian Perez
Hi my name is Vivian Perez and I was born in Bronx, NY. As an Army Brat, an Air Force Wife and a proud patriot I have lived in many places such as, North Carolina, Louisiana, Germany, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Iceland, England and Maryland.
I have been a Para-Professional here at St. Philip the Apostle School since August of 2000. I love working with the Pre-k 4's because they are so eager to learn.
I live in Brooklyn, MD with my husband, daugter and son and 2 very spoiled cats.
Ms. Debra McGee
My name is Debra McGee. I moved to the Washington, DC metropolitan area as a small child. I attended District of Columbia Public Schools. They say that teachers are born with the gift to teach. As a child I would gather the children in my neighborhood and play school, of course I was the teacher. So naturally, upon entering college I chose education.
I have been teaching in the Archdiocese of Washington for 29 years. My first teaching job was at St. John the Baptist de la Salle School in Chillum, MD. I was employed there for 18 years. In addition to teaching, I was the Director of the morning and after school program. I also taught at Our Lady Queen of Peace School in Washington DC for 5 years before moving to St. Philip the Apostle School in Camp Springs, MD
My hobbies include collecting African American commemorative stamps, collecting limited edition art, boating, fishing and traveling. I also enjoy watching CSI, HGTV, college basketball and football. In my younger years, I played basketball and refereed in the adult men's league for the DC Department of Recreation. In recent years, I've developed an interest in environmental issues.
Mrs. Jennifer Vilky
Hello, my name is Jennifer Vilky. I am the Kindergarten para-professional. I have been teaching here for 12 years. I started out teaching CCD and then became the Coordinator of Religious Education, which I did for 10 years. I am the oldest of six girls and grew up traveling to many different states and countries because my father was in the Air Force.
My hobbies include crafts, spending time with my niece and nephew, and going to the movies.
Ms. Nicole Hayes
My name is Nicole Hayes, and I am a two time graduate from Frostburg State University, a well known university located in a small town in Western Maryland. I earned my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education in Spring 2008 and my Masters Degree in Reading Education in Spring 2010. During my time there I was able to complete internships including fifth grade, kindergarten, third grade, and literacy coaching. I was also blessed with the opportunity to work at the Universitys Childrens Literature Centre during the two years I worked on my Masters Degree. This experience gave me the opportunity to meet and work with many wise and respectable professors, childrens book illustrators, and authors. My entire time at this school opened my eyes to the teachers role in educating and inspiring children to strive to reach their greatest potential, regardless of their age.
Mrs. Connie Madden
I have been at St. Philip the Apostle School for 15 years. I started out in the library/computer room and now I am a Para professional for grades 1 and 2.
I have 2 children who graduated from St. Philip School. My hobbies are knitting and reading books. I have a cat and a dog now that my children are away at college.
Miss. Tori Rowe
Hello! My name is Miss Rowe. I am the second grade teacher at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic School. This is my first year at St. Philip's. I am originally from upstate New York, a small town called Oneonta. I came to Washington, D.C., to study at the Catholic University of America. While at Catholic University, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Politics and a Master’s Degree in Special Education. When I am not teaching my second graders, I love to travel, read, dance, and cook.

Ms. Mary Hay
Hi, my name is Mary Hay. I have been a 3rd grade teacher in the Archdiocese of Washington for 4 years now. This is my 2nd year teaching here at St. Philip the Apostle, however it is not my first year being at St. Philip, as I attended this school from Kindergarten to the 8th grade and a parishioner since I was born.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the Catholic University of America in 2006. I currently am working toward my Masters in Special Education.
My hobbies include doing arts and crafts, playing and watching sports, and reading. I love to visit with friends and family and my new puppy, Cenaluna and relax at home in my free time.
Ms. Monica Watkins
My name is Monica R. Watkins and I am the 4th grade teacher, here at St. Philips. I am a product of the Washington, DC and Prince Georges County Public School Systems and I have been involved in education for the last 7 years.
I attended the University of Maryland, College Park where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration and Management. I have over eighteen years of combined experience in Administrative Management and Education that have provided me a wealth of skills that has resulted in a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator. I have a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student.
In my freetime, I am member of the Toastmasters International Club, Notary of Prince Georges County, Maryland and enjoy the theatre, traveling, vintage and progressive jazz.
