Kindergarten
Ms. Debra McGee & Ms. Jennifer Vilky
My name is Debra McGee. I moved to the Washington, DC metropolitan area as a small child. I attended District of Columbia Public Schools. They say that teachers are born with the gift to teach. As a child I would gather the children in my neighborhood and play school, of course I was the teacher. So naturally, upon entering college I chose education.
I have been teaching in the Archdiocese of Washington for 29 years. My first teaching job was at St. John the Baptist de la Salle School in Chillum, MD. I was employed there for 18 years. In addition to teaching, I was the Directory of the morning and after school program. I also taught at Our Lady Queen of Peace School in Washington DC for 5 years before moving to St. Philip the Apostle School in Camp Springs, MD
My hobbies include collecting African American commemorative stamps, collecting limited edition art, boating, fishing and traveling. I also enjoy watching CSI, HGTV, college basketball and football. In my younger years, I played basketball and refereed in the adult men's league for the DC Department of Recreation. In recent years, I've developed an interest in environmental issues.
