Sixth Grade
Mrs. Barbara Hayes
I am a graduate of Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, New York. Upon graduation I served several years in the Army as a Field Artillery Officer. One of my many assignments was to instruct Marine and Army Lieutenants in the basics of cannon gunnery, lots of Math. During this assignment, I met and married my husband of 24 years. We have three grown children, two of which are pursuing careers in the field of education and the third works in a government contract office for the FFA.
I spend my personal time continuing to work with youth. I serve as an assistant scoutmaster with a Boy Scout troop in Upper Marlboro. I am also a long time member of the Catholic Committee of Scouting, both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts Committees. My husband and I work together training and coordinating the Altar Servers at our home parish, Saint Peter's in Waldorf. I also serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and teach the confirmation preparation for students enrolled in the public school.
Although my spare time is limited any free time I have always involves serving the youth. I believe God called me to serve in his capacity and plan to do so until God tells me otherwise.
